@azonenberg @stman Tho it's not impossible to convert BGA to LGA whereas PGA has the disadvantage that said pins act as tiny antennas and make EMI compliance and stability at high frequencies quite hard.

• Obviously it is reducing repairability tho unlike #SolderedDownRAM and #SolderedDownSSDs it's really rare to have a soldered-down SoC or CPU break and not also have the board to be dead on other occasions as the CPUs ain't wear-out parts that will inevitably fail over useage and time unlike SSDs and not something one may need to change or upgrade like RAM and Storage...

@Okanogen my only gripe is #AntiRepairDesign & #AntiRepairDRM with *obviously spiteful decisions by the folks who created something to make repairs artifically complex and error-prone and thus risky as well as costly.

Also don't just ditch #hp for printers, but also #PCs and #Laptops, because their #ProBook series of machines do #VendorLocking of #RAM and will refuse to boot without manually confirming by pressing F1 on the devices' keyboard every single bootup (!!!), bricking #PXE-Boot & #WakeOnLAN / #WoL in the process just to #FUD #customers and #IntependentRepair service providers!

The problem is in #IT that #WhatWeAllowIsWhatWillContinue and we allowed Corporations like #Apple to sprearhead the #Enshittification with #GluedInBatteries, #SolderedDownRAM, #SolderedDownSSDs and #AntiRepairDesign!

The only winning move is to refuse to buy such shit!!
