imagine if we told future chefs that we would no longer teach them how to cook. they would learn how to write menus, and how to taste dishes (from the menus), produced by robots, in order to check if they were acceptable. they would often have to taste 100s of dishes before getting something average. then each time the dish was ordered they would have to spend 5 minutes fixing it up…obviously ridiculous for chefs… but seems to be the way we are going for #SoftwareEngineers. equally ridiculous.

#EmbeddedEngineers and #SoftwareEngineers out there, what tooling do you use to build your projects? I am working with a customer whose build environment behaves wildly different locally vs on daily commits (i.e. merge requests) vs nightly vs release. None of them behave the same.

We're using #conanPackageManager currently, wrapping CMake files and with a great deal of add-ons. It's scaling poorly!

C90 project, crosscompiling from Linux/Windows hosts.
