Sofia, Bulgaria—where Roman roads, Byzantine faith, and medieval art still guide modern travel. We followed the ancient Via Militaris (today’s E80), visited UNESCO-listed Boyana Church, and rolled east toward Turkey in Shehzadi, our Toyota Tundra. Same road. New borders. Old history doing fine.
