I just received a letter from the #SSA notifying me of a 40% increase in my Social Security benefits beginning March 2025 and the deposit of a lump sum payment for back payments due from Jan 2024- Feb 2025 under the Social Security Fairness Act (#SSFA).😊

Of course, this doesn't include the roughly the $50k in Social Security benefits that I previously earned but never received between 2015-2025, because my benefits were reduced by the #WindfallEliminatonProvision & #GovermentPensionOffset that reduced my benefits because I received a government pension that was not covered by Social Security, which is the problem that the SSFA was enacted to address.

Something is better than nothing & fortunately whatever #DOGE is doing to f*ck with the SSA didn't affect this increase in my benefits. 😎

I hope that others of you here who were likewise affected have received a similar notice from the SSA.

Biden really needs to sign this. It's a crock of shit that teachers, fire fighters, and other public workers can't receive their full Social Security benefits, or even worse spousal benefits. People don't stick to a government job for life, so it makes sense that they should be able to see the full benefits from their private sector work.

Biden, sign it!

Last night I proudly voted for the #SocialSecurityFairnessAct, which boosts the Social Security benefits of millions of public servants and repeals the harmful provisions that have unfairly punished teachers, police officers, and others for decades.

I urge the Senate to pass this bill and send it to President Biden for his signature.
