Journeys in Film started off more than 20 years ago creating educational guides for feature films. Over time, we expanded in creating teaching materials for:
- Animated films (like Kahlil Gibran's The Prophet),
- Short films (like Golden Age Karate),
- Documentary series (like Genius, about Albert Einstein),
- Film + book combinations (like The Neighborhood Storyteller + Muzoon: A Syrian Refugee Speaks Out), and
- Educational games (like "Walden, a game" from USC Game Innovation Lab).

We are also looking at creating teaching resources for social impact podcasts in 2026!

Our name has stayed the same but we are all about modern cross-media education.

Emerging artists, creators of color, and other underrepresented artists* often lack the access, support, and funding to create a solid strategy for audience engagement and partnerships. Impact Kickstart is dedicated to supporting filmmakers with an award of $60,000 and in-kind support to solidify partnerships and implement their impact campaign strategies.
