PSA: If you, a non addict, end up with a group of addicts/alcoholics in recovery, in a social setting or ESPECIALLY in a recovery meeting, please do not take that opportunity to tell everyone how proud of them you are, or how brave everyone is, etc.

It's so cringey. Everyone is not going to be mad at you but some are certainly going to be rolling their eyes, and some are going to be say "Oh bless their heart".

Just been invited to a 🤎🐷 social the day before Thanksgiving.

While I’m happy to attend, I do have to have my shields up to protect my #sobriety (120 days on that date next week) as I’ve spent a lot of my time under the rim seat totally #shit-faced. Bad puns aside, I don’t want to ruin things for myself & others by making those old/bad choices.

So much of this is entwined & I’m confronting myself “Do I really enjoy this or was it a lot of rebellion + #drugs?”
