It really winds me up when a statement is made about "Americans" or "Brits" which equally applies to anyone regardless of nationality.
Why not use "people"?
I understand why [some] politicians use it as it rams home the group(s) they represent but when corporations or news outlets use it, it just feels like needless "othering" of people and suggests you don't care about them.

Earth is full of ppl in pain, stuck in the crazy of fear and anger. All human beans are subject to the possibilities of this reality. We are all biologically & physically affected as well as emotionally. Learning the ways we work & our world works will give us the best chance at self control, influence over our worlds, and positive productive lives
IDK warum das Symbol für "verifizierter Account" in der Kontenauswahl in #Soapbox angezeigt wird, aber dieses Flag an einem von 5 Konten zu haben, verwirrt ungemein.
Ich halte das viel zu schnell für einen Indikator für "das gerade aktive Konto".
Davon ab: Warum vergisst so viel #Fediverse-#Client-Software immer mal wieder angemeldete Konten? Soapbox kommt gerne völlig durcheinander bis man wieder alle neu-anmeldet und #Fedilab auch und ist dann vollkommen b0rken. (aber hey! Fedilab ist auch sonst überall kaputt - kein Verlust!)
Discovering the #fediverse gives me the same feelings #linux did years ago. The endless choice, excitement of discovery, clash of philosophies and a community.
I spent years #distrohopping from #ubuntu , #arch , #voidlinux , #nixos etc and then back to arch. Also spent a long time switching desktop environments and window managers like i3.
I started on #lemmy and #mastodon . What do I try next? #selfhost an #activitypub server? Which one?
