Whatever does #NVIDIA and #Qualcomm for laptops with great graphics is a moot point.
#Windows11 is "getting there" so there is pressure for online gaming and anti-cheat, and the #SteamDeck exists.
It's more about a software problem rather than a #Windows problem, IMHO.

I fired up my Snapdragon X laptop over lunch to see if its been behaving, and do Windows updates. I haven't used it since November and it still had over 60% battery. Installing updates, and the silence is golden—no fan noise. I love how much less the fans on this machine turn on… shame about the spontaneous reboots and spotty Linux support though. On that, there's news that Fedora 44 will have out-of-the box support for these laptops, so I plan to give that a try.

Ich hatte damals bei der Einführung des #SnapdragonX ja mit großen Schwierigkeiten beim Linux-Support gerechnet und zahlreiche der zu lösenden Probleme umrissen[1].
Das es nach eineinhalb Jahren zu Headlines wie "#Tuxedo gibt Linux-Notebook mit Snapdragon X auf"[2] kommt, hätte ich aber auch nicht gedacht.
Aber das zeigt schön zwei Dinge:
* Wie viel AMD und Intel tun, damit ihre Platformen gut unter Linux laufen.
* Was für Tücken bei vielen Systemen mit ARM-basierter CPU lauern, weil (a) Industriestandards, ACPI und so Sachen fehlen/ignoriert werden und (b) sich CPUs mit ARM-Kern und damit gebaute Boards halt viel stärker voneinander unterscheiden als in der x86-Welt.

No obstante, el éxito de estos portátiles con Android dependerá en gran medida de que las aplicaciones profesionales y de productividad sean optimizadas para esta nueva plataforma.
