TL;DR: are any goofy software shops hiring netherlands/remote (even with oppressive timezone differences)

Do any of y'all know of a europe based software house or recruitment agency who has even the slightest room for whimsy and humour in job applications? I'm not looking for mandatory clowning, just somewhere who won't mash the "you're worthless to our company / society" button if you put "lmao" or turn to the camera and say "get a load of this" when describing a database import script

I'm getting my mental health absolutely thrashed by having to write a very srss bznss resume and cover letter without jokes japes or guffaw. The combination of it being impossible to write like that and an absolute kick in the gender salad every time I get back a zero effort copy of the default rejection letter form companies' recruiter shitware is doing me real dirty

At this point I'm not sure if I'm looking to #getfedihired or if I'm just looking to vent.

I'm mostly forever #perl #smol + old web + backend / ISP, but a good neurodivergent coworker who thought it was cool could likely get me onto a different language in pretty short order

@walterjizz IMO, message passing concurrency is way more flexible in the long run, so I'd go with that.

@PuercoPop Newer versions of tokio now come with a LocalRuntime, which allows spawning of !Send + !Sync Futures (unfortunately, they still need to be 'static, though😐):

I'm probably biased, but I really like smol, because it is very flexible, e.g. your Futures don't even need to be 'static:

Anybody on the #lazyweb / #smolweb overlap have a #css #cssframework to recommend for making a "looks fine" and "doesn't choke readers/dumbphones/australian dsl users"?

I would like it if it came pre-compiled, but also i could like, compile some of it out later if I decide I don't need some bits #smol #lowfi #retroweb
