A few photos from the talk with the swordsmith Peter Johnsson. After the talk we got to look at a few swords he had brought with him. The bronze sword was really nice.

He does swordsmithing courses every spring and fall. I’m tempted to sign up, but it’s pretty long, and requires bringing your own blade material. Or spend two more days ahead of the course to make it.

Went to a festival, ended up spending half the time at a forge and learning some basics from the smith, as well as figuring things out by trial and error.

I won't be able to practise very often, but there might be a chance here and there ...

Taking a break to watch The Rings of Power. Watching mithril get melted down in a crucible and am surprised it takes such a low heat to do so. Those are yellow flames, and not all that hot. A propane torch is hotter than that. Must be magic fire.

(I used to study goldsmithing and silversmithing a couple decades ago.)
