Chromodoris willani, commonly known as Willan's chromodoris, is a species of sea slug, a dorid nudibranch, also known as the Willani sea slug, found in the Western Pacific Ocean, from Indonesia and the Philippines to Vanuatu. It possess both female and male reproductive organs, blue color indicates toxicity, are known to feed on sponges, and they have developed specific adaptations to consume this type of food.

Let's shine a spotlight on slugs. This one is special: it's one of the largest, maybe the largest, land slug species in the world – the ash-black slug. I found it crawling across a path in the woods while walking home late in the evening two weeks ago.

I kept an eye on it until it reached the undergrowth on the other side. I did not want to risk some careless cyclist squashing it. Looking back, I should have taken more photos of it from more interesting angles. Oh well...
