The #SlovakGovernment on Wednesday approved the extension of temporary protection for people fleeing the war in Ukraine until 4 March 2025. The step is in line with the #EUCouncil decision adopted on 19 October 2023.

Never in my life have I seen so many people walking up the castle hill in Bratislava where the Slovak parliament has its seat. Old & young, short & tall, beautiful & ugly, all have come here to protest against a band of criminals who call themselves the #SlovakGovernment .
Thousands walk before me, thousands more behind me.
Around 45,000 people throughout #Slovakia took to the streets again to protest against the government's frontal attack on #justice, #democracy, and the #RuleOfLaw. The SNP Square in Bratislava saw nearly 27,000 protesters, approximately the same number as showed up previous week.
Some 400 also protested in front of the Slovak embassy in Prague.
