Le Paralimpiadi invernali di Milano-Cortina 2026 sono iniziate: fino a domenica 15 marzo ci sono in palio 79 medaglie d’oro. L’Italia ne ha vinte due nell’ultima edizione di Pechino, con 7 podi complessivi. Nei Giochi di casa, come ha dichiarato il presidente del Comitato italiano paralimpico (Cip) Marco Giunio De Sanctis a ilfattoquotidiano.it, l’obiettivo è fare meglio, possibilmente arrivando almeno a 10 medaglie complessive. Il record fu a Lillehammer 1994 con 13 (ma zero d’oro), mentre il miglior piazzamento azzurro nel medagliere paralimpico resta il nono posto di Torino 2006.
La prima medaglia azzurra è stata conquistata nella discesa femminile da Chiara Mazzel che in coppia con la guida Nicola Cotti Cottini, è argento a 48 centesimi dall’austriaca Veronika Aigner, oro con il tempo di 1’22″55. Terza la slovacca Alexandra Rexova, quinta l’altra azzurra in gara, Martina Vozza, a 7″99.

The Winter Paralympics in Milan-Cortina 2026 have begun: until Sunday, March 15th, there are 79 gold medals at stake. Italy has won two in the last edition in Beijing, with a total of 7 medals. As declared by the President of the Italian Paralympic Committee (Cip), Marco Giunio De Sanctis to ilfattoquotidiano.it, the goal is to do better, possibly reaching at least 10 medals overall.
