The Trump administration is against mandatory review requirements for slop machines. No surprise.

But such government reviews wouldn't be enough anyway. Not in the United States or anywhere else. The slop corporations would just buy favorable outcomes or lobby their way around any regulation.

I'd suggest we let the people vote on the slop machines instead. When something affects all of us, we all should have a voice and a vote!

(2/2) Once successful, they could slap a hefty price tag on being mentioned as the source of any information or just sell ads, disguised as information, as they have done for years.

I've been called many things for making this argument, including delusional. But now that Google announced its latest changes to search, I feel pretty vindicated.

Today is a good day to remind the people around us that the slop machine marketing is a lie. This isn't about making anyone smarter, more creative, more efficient, or anything else they claim their technology does.

This is about making each and every aspect of our lives dependent on their technology. This is about locking us in and forcing us to pay them to do what we once were perfectly capable of doing without them!

Slop-Zombie: "You're not using any AI [sic!] at all? But how do you manage to get stuff done?"

Me: "I've been doing stuff for almost four decades now. Without any slop machine. So I'm confident that I'll get along without them for another few decades."

Slop-Zombie: 😳

Please stop posting about how you're running a slop machine on your own hardware under the privacy hashtag!

The technology is built on massive privacy violations, no matter where it's running! If you claim that running your slop machine locally is privacy-friendly, your notion of who has a right to privacy is obviously limited to yourself!

Slop machines are the antithesis to consent.

Our information is used to build them - without our consent.

They are pushed into our lives - mostly without our consent.

People use them on each other - without consent.

Boosters, try and convince me that your favorite tech hype isn't just a violation of people's right to self-determination!

What the slop machines are really good for: offloading the costs of suppressing skilled labor onto society.

Nothing new. Nothing unprecedented. Just the newest phase of unchecked capitalism.

Claims that running a slop machine locally is privacy-friendly are wrong unless the person running it has a concept of privacy that is limited to them alone.

But the technology is still built on massive theft of personal information, no matter where it's running. Arguing that running it locally makes everything okay is nothing but an admission of egocentrism.

That's why reading praises for the slop machines with the privacy hashtag makes me angry!

To all the LLM bros who are invading my precious feed,

I really don't care if your slop machine runs locally. The technology is still built on utter disrespect for humans, their dignity, their environment, and their privacy. Running it on your hardware doesn't make it ethical!

And please stop using the privacy hashtag to brag about it. You're just wrong there!

Does this sound familiar?

"Someone previously unfamiliar with the trade could use a wide frame to churn out stockings roughly six times as fast as a framework knitter, though the product was of obviously inferior quality."
