I never knew about Dog Vomit Slime Molds until my wife told me on our walk on Sunday. These slime molds can be white or yellow and are also known as witches butter (though I always thought there was a jelly fungus called that).

Apparently, in Scandinavian folklore, it is known as the vomit of Troll Cats 😱😱

They aren't dangerous though they can trigger allergies like rhinitis.

Another pretty slime mold formation. No wonder this one is also known as the coral slime mold.

My (German) talk about "Unconventional Computing" from this year's #VCFe can now be re-watched on YouTube:

Goodmorning! Question for the Wolf's Milk slime mold (Lycogala epidendrum) experts among us:

Why does the slime mold on the bench where I planned to have my morning coffee appears to suffer from the bubonic plague?

A nice slime mold by the kitchen door this morning.

Is this a slime mold (as I first thought) or some lichen, such as Coniocybe eufuracea? It was growing inside an old tree stump, which was already unrecognisable in its state of decomposing.

Entomobrya albocincta (fam. Entomobryidae) + Myxomycetes indet.

[EN] The white slime mold caught my attention and then I saw the little springtail, which is also beauty.
Slime molds are a very interesting group of organisms: they spend their lives as single-cell amoebas eating bacteria, but to reproduce they aggregate into structures which are similar to the fruiting bodies of fungi and then they produce spores (better, read wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mycetozoa ).
