I saw an obnoxiously scammy ad for a D**ila E**o #SleepApnea pillow. So to spite them, I immediately ordered an exact knock-off from AliExpress for 1/4 of their "discounted" price.
So, did the #Ad work or not?

I think we can all agree that sleep is important. But messed-up sleep, where one stops breathing (sleep apnea), is kind of bad and (atop everything else) can also cause memory impairments.

Had another sleep study. I now have sleep apnea—which is severe enough to qualify me for a CPAP, but only if I had commercial insurance. According to Medicare, I don’t stop breathing quite enough to qualify.
Sleep apnea increases with age. It seems like it would be smart, cost-effective preventive medicine to reduce cardiac stress and potentially prevent a cardiac event. I’m having a hard time making this make sense.

Was doing so well with the old #sleepapnea tonight. Only woke once at 3.30am, comfort break, swig of water, back to sleep... Lay there for 15 minutes trying to get comfortable...the effort of which woke me up properly, so I'm now downstairs with the dog on my lap feeling vaguely pissed off.
Ho hum.
I know other people have bigger problems, but I do object and feel depressed about not sleeping through the night for...yikes...15 years. Can't be good for me!

A new peer-reviewed study by sleep researchers at Yale School of Medicine, published in the Journal of the American Heart Association shows that veterans with both insomnia and sleep apnea face dramatically higher cardiovascular risks. Researchers followed nearly 1 million U.S. veterans receiving care through the Veterans Health Administration. Here’s what they found: • People with both insomnia and obstructive sleep apnea have more than a 2 fold higher risk of developing hypertension. • Their risk of cardiovascular disease is nearly 4× higher. • Having both sleep disorders is far more dangerous than having either one alone. • The increased risk appears in both men and women. Why this matters for you: Millions of people think poor sleep is just annoying, but untreated sleep disorders may quietly raise your risk for high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke. What are the signs of disordered sleep? Loud snoring that wakes your partner, waking up gasping, or repeated problems falling asleep.
