Black Chamber of Raleigh Celebrates One Year

The Black Chamber of Raleigh marked a major milestone—its 1-year anniversary—with a vibrant networking event bringing together entrepreneurs, professionals, and community leaders.

The event highlighted the Chamber’s continued impact in supporting Black-owned businesses and fostering economic growth in Raleigh. In addition to the celebration, the organization also expanded its reach by appearing on the Give It To The People Podcast, further amplifying its mission and voice.

Skate Raleigh Takes Over Moore Square

Skate Raleigh brought serious energy to Moore Square with their latest pop-up event.

From BMX riders and skateboarders to roller skaters, the square transformed into a full-on skate culture experience. The event also featured:

Raleigh Firebirds Bring the Heat

First Popup of the Year at Moore Square – Skate, Roll and Ride in Downtown Raleigh

Spring is officially rolling into Raleigh, and there’s no better way to celebrate than getting outside with your community. The First Popup of the Year is set to bring energy, movement, and fun to Moore Square this Saturday, April 11.

Hosted as part of Skate Raleigh’s Skate Moore Square Weekend, this event invites locals and visitors alike to enjoy an afternoon packed with skating, games, giveaways, and vibrant downtown vibes.

Wheel-a-thon (4PM – 7PM)

Presented by Leadership Raleigh, the Wheel-a-thon is the highlight of the day.

Participants and spectators are encouraged to:

Skate, bike, or ride Support fundraising efforts for better skating opportunities in Raleigh Celebrate movement, community, and inclusivity

All non-motorized wheels are welcome, making this an accessible and family-friendly experience.

Sunday Is Quads Day! Free Roller Skating at Moore Square

Get ready to roll, Raleigh — because Sunday is Quads Day! On Sunday, November 9, Moore Square transforms into a full-on community skate meetup with free roller skating, music, games, meetups, and good vibes all afternoon long. Whether you’re rocking quads, inlines, or brand-new rental wheels, this day is built for everybody who loves to move.

This event is free, open to all ages, and all skill levels — from first-timers to flow skaters to seasoned bowl carvers.

Roller Skate Moore Square with The Wright Wheelhouse

12 PM – 5 PM • Moore Square

Cruise the super-smooth walkways of Moore Square while DJs spin real vinyl and keep the energy high. The Wright Wheelhouse crew will be onsite to:

Answer skating and gear questions Capture fun photos Share technique tips and style inspo Bring surprise treats (because yes, it’s a whole vibe)

Bring your best wheels and your best attitude — this is the Sunday skate you don’t want to miss.

Girls Unite Meetup – Hosted by the Skate Forward Crew

Starts at 1 PM • Moore Square Skate Park (center of the square)

Calling all quads and inlines — this meetup is here to build confidence, community, and pure hype.

What’s happening:

Learn or Teach Session — beginners welcome! S.K.A.T.E. Battles — friendly competition + big laughs Skill-building + flow practice Open roll time with supportive skaters cheering you on

No skates? No problem.

Peak Skates will provide quad rentals all day, first come, first serve.

A Full Weekend of Skating – November 7–9

This event is part of a full Skate Raleigh takeover weekend.

From Friday to Sunday, Moore Square hosts jam sessions, meetups, workshops, and specialty rides.
