"What other synth can do THIS?"
'tis a nice sounding synth!
I went for two classics: my Sequential Circuits Six-Trak, my EMU Drumulator, and two fairly recent machines: the Behringer RD9 (Roland TR-909 clone) & the Donner D1.
Picture is from my Korg KR-55 Pro which I didn't use, just to throw everybody off... The D1 is what I used for the breakbeat (it is a sample based drum machine).
I'll have to tackle soon a track with a lot more #drummachine

What I did there, was to record the 808 kick on one channel, the rest of the drums on a stereo pair with a ping pong delay, the bass chords under a ton of reverb and super long phaser on another channel, and finally the lead sounds on another stereo pair. The goal was to create the flows for the drums and the leads by proper timing of adjusting the volume sliders at mastering time down to stereo.

For the spherical coordinates, we'll use 3 dimensions to sequence the main synth. One sequencer will do the notes on an odd signature (pitch & time covering 2 dimensions) & another, an euclidian sequencer, will control the gate (our 3rd dimension) on it, also at an odd signature, but different, creating a subtle variation.
Similarly, the bassline will follow an odd signature, but no gating, opting instead for a bit more sustain.

In the end i did end up using the #tb303 for my latest #jamuary2025 track, in a dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde dual use. From borderline mysterious #ambient electronic bassist to intransigent #techno screaming banshee, it ended up filling its role perfectly, after sidetracking me for hours. #tb303 #tr606 #adrenalinn #sequentialcircuits #sixtrak #crumar #bit99 #hammond #novachord
The 6th track for #jamuary2025 was inspired by my "Radio Interference" album released 30 years ago. Embracing artifacts we normally try to hide, this incorporates mechanical noise (Radio Interference

Ooh, an emulation of one of my favourite synths by one of my favourite software instrument maker wizards, @fullbucket 😍
He says in the manual he modelled it from the firmware/schematics, doesn't even have an actual unit 🤯 "And of course it does not sound like the original Six-Trak".
As I happen to have one I thought I'd do a quick unscientific comparison of a few random patches I transferred from my synth to the VSTi via SysEx.
First, here's the original: 1/3
