To be fair, the rest of Ribera's speech is not bad: she emphasises how industrial policy (competitiveness!) should not reduce #competition in the EU #SingleMarket and that the combination of technological, market, and political power is a real problem.
But the ignorance needed to celebrate the EU #HumanRights record in 2026 (and being applauded from an audience full of wealthy lawyers for it) is really sad.
