UNREPEATABLE MEN - LUCIANO ALLENDE

The man who loads on his back with an exhausted companion is called Luciano Allende and he was born on May 28, 1898 in Santander. They called him Toto. He had a poor and complicated childhood, and at 15 years old he emigrated to Lyon to work as a glazier.

A fucked up glass job. The fire burns your eyes and the mixture of certain minerals used as coloring burns your lungs. Still he never looked down or stopped sucking life in.

Glass also outside Paris, befriended the submissive Gaston Rolland, who was sentenced to forced labor for condemning wars; and with Charles Louis Anderson, libertarian who in the Spanish war would move heaven and earth despite not believing in the first thing to evacuate children and girls to a safe zone and dignified conditions. He also made good crumbs with two Spanish exiles who were warning of fascism that was coming, Buenaventura Durruti and Francisco Ascaso.

Following the fascist coup of July '36, Allende returned to Spain to enlist in the People's Army. He sucked the whole war until he crossed the border on foot to be spat on Argelès and Saint Cyprien. His only way out was to enlist in a company of foreign workers. He didn't feel like giving up after the German occupation and joined the Resistance.

Luciano Allende participated in various armed actions against German troops until he was arrested by the Gestapo in March 1944. They couldn't get anything out of him and they deported him to Neuengamme, an old brick factory used as a horror factory by the SS. 106 thousand people, men and women, passed through. Over half of them perished. Luciano survived.

May 4, 1945 is that man who looks at the camera carrying a partner behind his back, because he always carried his responsibility in a world that without guys like him would be worse, would make us worse.

Militant until the end of the CNT and the Spanish Federation of Deportados and Political Internados (FEDIP), Luciano Allende went with his partner Mariette to work as a beekeeper near the Mediterranean, that blue glass in which he could lose his gaze and remember those lives they gave him sense to everything.

Luciano Allende died on January 23, 1983, in the peace of a buzzing bee, scattering his ashes in the garden of a good friend, the libertarian Paul Ferrare. Gotta grow our garden.

Ningún gobierno lucha en contra del fascismo para destruirlo.

Cuando la burguesía ve que el poder se les escapa de sus manos, alzan el fascismo para mantener sus privilegios.

Al fascismo no se le discute, se le destruye.
