I ain't surprised a talented writer like Simon Spurrier don't like imitation-bots, but I am pleasantly surprised that he spelled it out so explicitly!
Remember, creators are workers, and imitation-bots are anti-worker and impossible to use ethically under capitalism.

It's too hard to name my favorite authors or even favorite books, but here is a list of some I enjoyed with a brief comment.
#CadwellTurnbull - The Lesson - A fantastic debut novel: colonialism examined through an alien occupation story. Cool ideas in SF stories are great, but it's all about the characters for me, and this book is a winner on both counts.
#JenniferEgan - A Visit from the Goon Squad - A book I started reading to expand my horizons (I like the weird SF&F, yo) but I kept reading because it's so good. Never mind it becomes very SFnal toward the end.
#JeffStokely & #SimonSpurrier - Six Gun Gorilla - Among my favorite graphic novels. It reads a bit like King's The Dark Tower... but with a Gorilla. Fantastic story and the art is iconic.
#WilliamBrowningSpecer - Zod Wallop - Spencer short stories and his novel Resume, With Monsters get more love than this one. Zod Wallop is my favorite of his books, whimsical, dark, and heartfelt.
#EliotWeinberger - Nineteen Ways of Looking at Wang Wei - A thin but fascinating book about the translation of a single poem from the Tang Dynasty. I knew zero about translation going in to this book and it became an instant favorite.
#TadeThompson - Far From the Light of Heaven - I'm a sucker for a good 'outer space' narrative, and I'm all in for a mystery. This book combines those elements into a compulsively readable novel. I haven't read the Rosewater books yet, but they're in my TBR list based on this one.
#KathyKoja - The Cipher - There's a lot to like about this odd book, but the thing I come back to is how well Koja depicts two people who are incredibly unhealthy for each other. Weird and dark.

#Alienated is a new #comic series from #SimonSpurrier and #ChrisWildgoose
"I always wondered what would’ve happened if E.T. had been befriended by someone a little less... nice. Someone with issues. Someone with rage and uncertainty and insecurity and big ideas, waiting to be tested. A teenager, basically. Or better yet, three of them. Then again, I always wondered what would’ve happened if E.T. himself had been a bit more, y’know. Alien. As in: ineffably strange. And terrifying." - Spurrier
