Lots of people in the OSR talk about the advantages of really long campaigns and how the relationships and history deepen over time.

Can confirm.

This marks 25 years of my longest, with the same core player throughout, though we have added two younger players in the last 17 years. And while it's a lot of work it's the most rewarding thing I've ever done.
