Musical Interlude: Listening to some classical today, and this popped up, an old favorite. A musical illustration of two caravans traveling the Silk Road, each with their own musical motif, and as they meet and cross paths, their motifs combine. It's a great piece for music-appreciation classes, and a classic bit of musical orientalism.
(Note about the orientalism: I've seem some condemn orientalism as cultural appropriation, but in all honesty, Borodin and a lot of others always were open about their inspiration for their works, and didn't pretend they came up with it themselves...so as long as you credit your inspiration, that meets my standards for acceptability.)
"In the Steppes of Central Asia," composed by Alexander Borodin, performed by the Main Line Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Don Liuzzi.
