Do you need to watch Secrets of the Silent Witch? I don't think so. It's a pretty good anime, but I wouldn't say it's anything special. There are other fantasy series that do things better, like Mushoku Tensei or The Executioner and Her Way of Life.
Despite what I assumed based on its name, Secrets of the Silent Witch isn't a fantasy adventure series. It's a fantasy slice of life series. While there's still some action, the main focus of the series is on Monica's daily school life.
Secrets of the Silent Witch follows the story of Monica Everett, the Silent Witch. Monica obtained this epithet because she developed silent spellcasting as a way to overcome her extreme shyness. That's right, she's Bocchi the Witch.

This show was an unexpected delight and I loved it from beginning to end. Monica is a believable heroine with characteristics that are not overused. The contrast of her shyness with the power she has just works somehow, and it’s really touching to see her develop good relationships. I’m also very fond of the characters around her.
The last two episodes were especially nice - I didn’t really need her and the prince become anything but their relationship develops in such a nice believable way I just hope it stays that way.
Season two when? 🥺
Is Prince Felix actually who we think he is? Things don't really add up with what we know about him. For example, his eye color has changed since he was a child. And in Secrets of the Silent Witch Episode 13, he refers to himself as a ghost.

What made Secrets of the Silent Witch Episode 13 a good episode to end the season on was the emotional moments between Monica and Felix. I hope we get more scenes with the two of them alone going forward.
