The building in the picture is the central crematorium with chapel complex at the Südfriedhof in Leipzig. Every time I stand before it, I feel its quiet grandeur. With its striking bell tower rising about 60 to 63 meters high, it’s visible from afar – a landmark of remembrance. It’s the largest cemetery structure in Germany, and you can feel that in every stone.

Das abgebildete Gebäude ist das zentrale Krematorium mit Kapellenanlage auf dem Südfriedhof Leipzig. Jedes Mal, wenn ich davor stehe, bin ich beeindruckt von seiner stillen Größe. Mit seinem rund 60 Meter hohen Glockenturm ragt es weithin sichtbar über das Gelände – ein Wahrzeichen der Erinnerung. Es ist das größte Friedhofsbauwerk Deutschlands, und das spürt man in jedem Stein.
