Oh right, that's the command line I needed to remember.
stty -F /devttyUSB0 onlcr igncr
agetty ttyUSB0 ascii
That might work for the #Silent700.

I bet you can hear this voice... #Silent700 #Wargames #DumbTerminal #Teletype
I kinda want to play TREK or ADVENTURE on this later.
@philpem I got hold of a Silent 703 BT model a year ago, still not had chance to start cleaning it up since then.
It's an ex-BT unit so has RS232 and not the acoustic coupler so should work with anything.
Just need to give it a real clean due to the cases foam disintegrating over the years.
The impression I'm getting from the TI Silent 700 Model 709 is that TI intended it for use in European countries (hence why it speaks V.25 and V.21 instead of Bell 103) but wanted to have a common terminal design and just change the line interface for each country - while retaining compatibility with the acoustic coupler.
Except: they only released the acoustic coupler, and that turned out to be Good Enough (tm)
I'm going to open up the #Silent700 tonight and see how the DB25 is wired
