Why are sighted people so desperate to seize hold of sight-impaired folk? "You're OK, honey" says the guy clamping the elbow of my cane arm as I try to descend the Subway stairs.

I love to knit. I can mostly do it without looking as I’ve been knitting for years. It’s a great way to stop myself trying to do lots of things at once.
When I knit jumpers I only knit in the round. I cannot be doing with making my poor old eyes try to deal with sewing up seams neatly!
But I like stripes… lots of stripes! I’m going to have a whole lot of ends to weave in this weekend! Wish me luck.
