In case anyone is feeling a bit #sickos and wants a giggle, the first Hungarian opinion poll since the election is out (from Medián, a reputable pollster) and #Fidesz have somehow managed to lose another fourteen percentage points SINCE POLLING DAY. I know there’s usually a bounce effect for newly elected governments, but presumably this reflects a few different factors including that:
a) many Fidesz voters were “soft” in the first place and just voted for the status quo because change is scary
b) the number of people telling pollsters they wouldn’t bother voting has dropped now it’s clear that change was in fact possible, and
c) some people will always want to say they backed the winner even if they somehow “forgot” to vote on the day.
