Prima hanno appiccato il fuoco all’interno del minivan e poi hanno bloccato le portiere per impedire alle vittime di scappare. Così sono stati bruciati vivi i quattro pakistani trovati carbonizzati lunedì ad Amendolara, in provincia di Cosenza, sotto la tettoia della stazione di servizio lungo la statale 106. I morti sono tutti pakistani, braccianti agricoli impiegati nei campi della Sibaritide e diretti verso la Piana del Metapontino, nel Materano.
In poche ore la Procura di Castrovillari e la polizia ha riscontrato i primi sospetti che la tragedia potesse essere collegata a un regolamento di conti negli ambienti degli extracomunitari. La svolta è arrivata grazie un video in cui si vedono due uomini, anche loro pakistani, che poco prima del rogo erano a bordo del mezzo. Stando al filmato registrato dalle telecamere di videosorveglianza, quindi, vittime e assassini si conoscevano e viaggiavano assieme.
Almeno fino a quando, parcheggiata l’auto a pochi metri dalla pompa di benzina, due di loro sono usciti mentre le fiamme invadevano l’interno del minivan. Piuttosto che aiutare gli altri a mettersi in salvo i due pakistani hanno bloccato le portiere impedendo la fuga degli altri connazionali che, a causa delle fiamme, si dimenavano. Circostanza questa che emerge chiaramente dal movimento del mezzo quando i due presunti assassini erano ancora sulla scena dell’omicidio plurimo. Delitto che, per le modalità atroci, è stato senza dubbio premeditato dai pakistani raggiunti durante la notte da un provvedimento di fermo al termine di un lungo interrogatorio a cui sono stati sottoposti in questura a Cosenza.

According to the footage recorded by surveillance cameras, the victims and the assassins knew each other and were traveling together.
At least until they parked the car a few meters from the gas pump, two of them exited as the flames invaded the interior of the minivan. Instead of helping the others to safety, the two Pakistani men blocked the doors, preventing the escape of their fellow countrymen who, due to the flames, were struggling. This circumstance emerges clearly from the movement of the vehicle when the two suspected assassins were still on the scene of the multiple murder. The crime, due to its atrocious methods, was undoubtedly premeditated by the Pakistanis, who were apprehended during the night following a warrant issued at the end of a long interrogation conducted at the police station in Cosenza.
