Imperial collapse during the #RussianRevolution left many territories independent, for some only briefly. A dispute between #Armenia & #Azerbaijan over #NagornoKarabakh dates to this, and the #ShushiMassacre began on #ThisDayInHistory in 1920, with perhaps 8000 Armenians killed.
