White Nationalist leader in #Arkansas accused of #LandSwindle, attempted murder

by Jacqueline Froelich February 6, 2026

"#PeterCsere makes his living developing private intentional communities. In 2016 in #ElPangui, #Ecuador, he helped establish #FruitHavenEcovillage, a vegan decentralized egalitarian consensus-based collective carved into the edge of an Amazon rainforest.

"Seven years later, in 2023, Csere fled Fruit Haven, chased by allegations that he took others’ money with him. Csere has since broken ground on a controversial new #WhitesOnly development in the #Arkansas #Ozarks branded Return to the Land, currently occupied by a few dozen followers. He and partner #EricOrwoll, a California native and amateur #pornographer, purchased 160 acres of raw property in rural Sharp County to construct their prototype #WhiteNationalist compound. The private membership association last year drew international media attention, public condemnation and great admiration from #Extremist brethren.

[...]

"The most serious allegation cited by Fruit Haven residents is that Csere physically attacked members of the #ShuarNation, an #Amazonian #indigenous tribe, in a dispute over llegal mining. The #Shuar were panning for gold along a stream on Fruit Haven property, which they claim is their original tribal land base.

"According to Frost, Csere, by that point, had begun to dress in 'military-style clothing' and had become increasingly confrontational with locals.

“Members from the white nationalist and #WhiteIdentitarian community have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to fund #ReturnTotheLand projects in Arkansas including tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees,' Russell said. 'Yet there is no evidence that money is being used as promised. This is not a misunderstanding — it is deliberate donor deception.' "

Citizens of #Ecuador voted this week to halt the development of oil drilling in the #YasunĂ national park in the #Amazon, the Guardian reported.

In what Climate Home News described as a “first of its kind” referendum, the Ecuadorian public voted 59%-41% to #ban #oil #exploitation in “one of the largest biodiversity hotspots on the planet”, which is “home to Indigenous people in voluntary isolation”.

OIL STAY PUT: The result will require #Petroecuador, Ecuador’s state-owned oil company, to close all of its active oil wells and remove all infrastructure from a portion of the national park within a year, reported Axios.

Petroecuador produces nearly 60,000 barrels a day from its current operations in the park, noted the Hill.

The advocacy group Amazon Watch said the decision would “permanently keep an estimated 1bn barrels of oil in the ground”.

SETTING AN EXAMPLE

The Spanish-language online magazine Climática reported that ethnic groups #Waorani, #Kichwa and #Shuar considered the referendum a victory and campaigners said that it was the first time Ecuador had “decided to defend life and leave the oil in the ground”.

Brazil’s civil-society organisations said they expected their country to follow Ecuador’s example, Brazilian newspaper Folha de Sao Paulo reported.
