Shower Curtain is a band led by guitarist and singer-songwriter Victoria Winter who blends distorted shoegaze tones with a soft focus alt-rock, while her sense of yearning drives the music. Their dreamier side was more apparent on their initial set of EPs, which were equal parts bedroom pop and dream pop. Though the band generally goes for a gentle sound, they also enthusiastically crank up the fuzz here and there and harden their shoegaze. Like a lot of other acts that work in this style, they use the noise to set up as the atmospheric background for a specific mood rather than as a vehicle to express aggression or a sense of emotional turmoil.
