Some #aikido folks sparring with some #judo folks in Japan. Nice to see a bit of pressure testing and I think this is useful as a playground, but the engagement setup is still not fully what aikido is going for and only #Shirakawa-sensei was really deploying some aikido tactics in distance, which was nice to see.
Also without strikes people tend to bend in and get close.
Water is sprayed over the world heritage village of Shirakawa-go to protect it from fires before the winter.

Tatsumi Daimyōjin (辰巳大明神), festooned with sakura.
A mischievous tanuki once delighted in hiding beneath the nearby bridge to scare unsuspecting maiko and geisha as they passed by. He was later enshrined here (to calm his still restless spirit).
Last rebuilt in 1907, the 11.7m granite bridge is barely 60cm wide.
Bubbling up on Hiei-zan, the Shirakawa (白川) eventually flows through Gion. Fine sand would flow down from the mountain, settling on the bed. In the sun it would shine white, giving 'White River' its name.
🙏BRIDGE OF ASCETICS🌉
Not too far from Chion-in (知恩院), Gyōja-bashi (行者橋 'Bridge of Ascetics') straddles the Shirakawa River (白川).
Monks participating in the 'Kaihōgyō' (回峰行) cross the narrow bridge on their 75th day, en route to Yasaka-jinja (八坂神社).
