Just managed to make SherpaTTS the default on my phone and now Comaps is talking to me! 🤩 Can't wait to try it out in the wild!
unfa🇺🇦@jibbolus I totally get that. My mind is very chaotic and if the devices I use cannot keep up with me, I really suffer. So far, no experiences of that kind with the #Fairphone6. At least none of note. #FUTO Keyboard's voice typing is very fast, and I can use larger models for better accuracy as well, which I'm really happy with. I can also use #SherpaTTS for nice quality text-to-speech. GlaDOS is a particularly pleasant voice to use, so I feel like that is a bit slow. I will try a slimmer model.

Has A LOT if diff. languages/speakers and 8 from 11 german speakers do sound acceptable human/realistic.
OlivetreeIch hatte die Meldung gestern auch das erste (und zweite) Mal.

Interessant fand ich auch, dass die Meldung die #Apps nur als schädlich einstuft, ohne konkret zu benennen, was sie böses tun sollen.

What is there apart from #SherpaTTS that is fast and supports many languages?
What components do you want to replace? My only issue currently is the need for multilingual models (german-english) as otherwise it is unusable for me.

Kurt@bionk hi. Ich wusste gar nicht daß Google TTS ohne GApps/microG funktioniert. Ich nutze SherpaTTS und bin damit sehr zufrieden. Zur Navigation würde ich mir sogar eine Stimmte wünschen, die weniger natürlich wirkt als "de_DE-kerstin-low"

#espeak has been deemed too low quality, and #sherpaTTS too slow. #RHVoice silently fails on our hardware, and I'm running out of options. Does @GrapheneOS have a TTS engine that would be commercially friendly enough for us to push it via OTA update? Or would anyone recommend one?
We work with a sensitive population and lack of a screen reader can make things even more difficult for some.
Someone updated #easyspeak to put on #GrapheneOS and saved me a ton of time. A custom #AOSP based OS I've been working with needed a TTS service for our proprietary app and the devices we have didn't have one. I need to make a few modifications so we don't have to configure it for every device we have, but #FOSS has saved me a significant amount of headache.
#SherpaTTS also worked well, but required too many resources and I didn't have enough vespene gas to justify building more pylons...
