Been experimenting with and recording #78rpm records all day and it’s weird how quickly your ears get used to it.

Just played something a bit more modern and the only way I can describe it is like putting on glasses for the first time when you’re short sighted, but for ears. #vinyl #shellac

Help required please. Lend me your ears....

If anybody has a spare 8 minutes I'd love to hear what you think the best sounding of these two are.

The first is a straight recording direct off the turnable with no tweaking at all.

The box of 78s I was given. They were in an attic for many years, and I guess at some point, another box with put un top.
Lots of broken records, I'd take one out of a sleeve and it would come out in jagged bits. Around 40% are broken. The bits will be given to arty people for art projects.

I had just turned 16. skipped school to get tickets. gave extra ticket to some random punk at school (I had just moved to third new high school and had to ask around for fugazi/shellac fans that could drive)…he had an s10 truck that barely got us from flint to detroit and back.
