JERUSALEM (AP) — "Israeli forces on Tuesday targeted at least two United Nations facilities, pushing forward with its crackdown against the U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees tasked with delivering #humanitarian services to millions of people across the region.

"Crews began bulldozing the United Nations Relief and Works Agency ‘s offices in #SheikhJarrah and fired #TearGas at a vocational school in #Qalandia, marking Israel’s latest and most dramatic step against #UNRWA.

"Roland Friedrich, the agency’s #WestBank director, said UNRWA had received word that demolition crews and police arrived at their east Jerusalem headquarters early on Tuesday. Staff have not operated out of the facility for almost a year because of safety reasons, but Israeli forces confiscated devices and forced out the private security guards hired to protect the facility."

Israeli crews target UNRWA sites in east Jerusalem

Israeli forces have targeted two United Nations facilities as part of their crackdown on the U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees. On Tuesday, crews bulldozed the United Nations Relief and Works Agency's offices in Sheikh Jarrah and fired tear gas at a vocational school in Qalandia. The agency's West Bank director, Roland Friedrich, said this marks the culmination of two years of measures against UNRWA in east Jerusalem. Israel's Foreign Ministry said the demolition enforced a new law banning UNRWA, claiming the agency has ties with militant groups. The U.N. has denied these claims. Israel has long claimed the agency has an anti-Israel bias, often with little evidence.

Il modo in cui la vicenda è stata “indagata” è a dir poco motivo di cordoglio.
Due settimane dopo il sospettato è stato rilasciato e posto agli arresti domiciliari, e dopo circa un mese e mezzo la Procura dello Stato ha chiuso il caso, citando “prove insufficienti”.

E non ho ancora menzionato come l'intero sistema si sia mobilitato per salvare il poliziotto che uccise #YakubAbuAl_Kiyan a Umm al-Hiran nel 2017.

E dell'uomo che presumibilmente (presumibilmente perché nessuno ha indagato) ha sparato un proiettile con punta di spugna o di gomma contro il deputato #AymanOdeh e che ha ricevuto quest'anno un certificato di eccellenza dalla polizia.

Come si concilia questo con la sua apparizione in un video in cui spara un proiettile di gomma a una ragazza nel quartiere #SheikhJarrah di #Gerusalemme nel maggio 2021? ⬇️7

⟦ La municipalità di Gerusalemme sta portando avanti un piano di costruzione di un quartiere ebraico nell'area di #SheikhJarrah, a Gerusalemme Est, la cui popolazione è a maggioranza palestinese.

Secondo il piano, decine di famiglie palestinesi dovrebbero essere sfrattate e al loro posto saranno costruite 316 unità abitative ed edifici pubblici.

Il quartiere dovrebbe sorgere su terreni che negli ultimi anni sono stati al centro di battaglie legali tra i residenti di Sheikh Jarrah e le organizzazioni di coloni, accompagnate da proteste e scontri violenti.

I residenti e le organizzazioni della società civile sostengono che lo scopo del piano è quello di allontanare i palestinesi dal quartiere. ⬇️2
