What JAWS shortcut do you think everyone should know about? One of the most essential JAWS shortcuts is Say Current Line. To use this shortcut, press INSERT+UP ARROW on a desktop or CAPS LOCK + I on a laptop keyboard.
This command instantly reads the current line where your cursor is located. It is one of the most frequently used shortcuts for reviewing text and confirming your position while editing or reading documents.
Want to jump into JAWS settings or tools quickly?
Press INSERT+J to open the JAWS main window (or CAPS LOCK+CTRL+SHIFT+J on the Laptop layout). From there, you can:
- Open Settings and Options
- Launch tools like Settings Center, Dictionary Manager, or Keyboard Manager
- Check license status or activate JAWS
- Access help and documentation
- Exit or restart JAWS

Did you know one of the most-used commands in JAWS is “Say All”? This feature reads from your current position to the end of a document, web page, or email, letting you listen to large amounts of text without stopping at each line.
