More #Vercel woes. Self-hosting #Share2Fedi didn't help – I guess a lot of people still use the v2 aka toot – and the usage now reached 400%, causing every website I host on Vercel to get blocked. It will be a fun train ride trying to self-host everything.

PSA to those using #Shareon share buttons or toot V2 for Mastodon sharing: You might wanna switch to the Fediverse button or Share2Fedi, respectfully.

For anyone who uses or follows #Share2Fedi:

Due to JavaScript ecosystem being what it is, I am currently unable to deploy anything other than what was already deployed. Meaning, I can’t deploy any bugfixes, add support for new software, or add new languages.

I hope it can be solved by migrating to yet another major version of Astro. I am so tired of it pushing multiple major versions per year, though, so I plan to rewrite the whole app sooner or later 🙃

Ugh, Vercel is such a joke.

1. Make everyone anxious when they run Node.js 18, because it will be dEpReCaTeD soon™
2. Make your builders use a different `glibc` that the runtime
3. Pass builds without warnings as if nothing bad is happening
4. Start requiring strict runtime compatibility out of the blue and break the builds

I can't push any fixed to #Share2Fedi right now, because it will not build on Vercel, which hosts the primary domain 🙄

#Share2Fedi v3 is now live!

This version drops the Mastodon-centrism both in the name and in the functionality. You can now use it to share text posts to Misskey (+ flavours), Friendica, Hubzilla, and GNU Social! Also, thanks to Astro, you can self-host it *anywhere*

In the coming week, I'll add a ‘Share to Fediverse’ button to #Shareon. The v2 version is still available on the old domain, which will be phased out until the end of the year.

Users of #Mastodon, #Pleroma, #Misskey, #Friendica, #Hubzilla, and/or #GNUSocial — I need your help!

The next version of #Share2Fedi will add support for other Fediverse projects. I need to test it, but I don’t have any accounts to do it with. That’s where you come in:
