D.C. officer guilty of leaking to Proud Boys’ Tarrio before Jan. 6
“The defendant was not using Tarrio as a source; it was the other way around,” U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson said Monday in finding the former officer guilty on all counts. “He knew then and he knows now that it was wrong.”
Ardy’sAs the police began to investigate the episode, Mr. Tarrio confessed on social media to having burned a Black Lives Matter banner hanging outside the building. Prosecutors say that Mr. Lamond illegally informed Mr. Tarrio that the act of vandalism would not be looked at as a hate crime and later tipped him off to the fact that a warrant for his arrest had been issued in early January, just days before the Capitol attack.
