In the aftermath of revelations about non-custodial sentences for young rapists, there has been much discussion of the ongoing, life changing impact of the attacks on the victims...

But perhaps we should also (as this past victim writing to the Guardian stresses) be careful to recognise that there are ways through the trauma, and ensuring young lives are not 'ruined' is also a blow against the perpetrators!
