May 1st — International Labour Day, is dedicated to preserving and promoting the rights of workers all over the world, including sex workers.
Today, we remind you…
Sex workers have the right to work, of free choice of workplace, of just and safe conditions, without pressure or being forced.
Sex workers have the right to safe working places, and access to accurate and timely health and safety information, it makes no difference if they are employed or self-employed.
Sex workers must have equal benefits: right to sick, maternity, or holiday leave, as well as support for career changes/unemployment. No one ought to be dismissed or restricted from employment for engaging in sex work.
Sex workers have the right to be treated with respect in their workplaces and to live and work without sexual harassment, abuse and mistreatment.
Sex workers have the right to protection and support, including real and effective assistance help to those victims of human trafficking and sexual exploitation, with full respect for their human rights.
