Metro Line 1 will run 15 km with 15 stations, linking Makiško Polje and Karaburma, and is expected to ease congestion by shifting travel #underground.
The turnkey project includes 32 driverless Metropolis trains, signalling, power, track and a central control system using advanced Urbalis CBTC technology. The system aims to improve capacity, safety and reliability, with trains running as frequently as every 90 seconds.
Backed by French government support, the scheme is seen as a catalyst for economic growth, investment and lower emissions. It is expected to transform mobility for around two million residents while strengthening Belgrade’s position as a modern #European capital.
