Hey all,

I’ve been really quiet lately, mostly just sharing bits of writing from my #sepsis recovery.

I’ve started to get back into the woods, even though it often feels like walking on nails.

My ankles & right knee are still like crockery.

Some days I can walk for an hour; others, I’m lucky to get 5 mins from the car.

Still, I’m incredibly grateful to even be alive. I feel very blessed.

I hope to share new work soon.

⤵️ A fond memory ❤️🌳

Today, I took a big step forward in my recovery.

I went swimming for the first time since my illness.

It might not sound like a big deal, but for me, it was huge. On the drive to the pool, I felt like I was stepping into the unknown. Nervous and filled with doubt, I even caught myself biting my nails—an old habit I kicked years ago.

Together, we can spread awareness about the critical importance of early recognition and treatment of sepsis. With over 47 million cases each year and 11 million lives lost, it's time to act. This year’s theme is “Sepsis Prevention: Save Lives, Stop Suffering.”

🚨 Remember, sepsis is a medical emergency. If you or someone you know shows signs, seek medical care immediately. Every hour counts!

I almost died from #iGAS and it took several surgeries and no small miracle to save my life. My heart breaks for these families. #sepsissurvivor
Feeling sober and reflective this morning. It’s 5 years since I was getting very ill. We had no idea how ill. My GP in Scotland didn’t realise but fortunately my parents’ GP in Cornwall (where I’d dragged myself down - I thought - to recuperate from flu), did, and it was only after I ended up in hospital that the full extent was discovered.
