In light of rising rents, budget cuts and the increasing economisation of urban space, the conversation addressed the growing pressure on self-organized initiatives and non-commercial infrastructures.

GESTRANDET meint: Wien braucht mehr solidarische, kollektive Kulturorte! Doch selbst die bestehenden kämpfen ums Überleben. Viele sind nur als Zwischennutzung geduldet und leben in ständiger Unsicherheit, ihre in jahrelanger und mit viel Herz aufgebauten Räume verlassen zu müssen.

Vertreter:innen des 4lthangrund Kulturzentrums und der Semmelweisklinik im Gespräch.Es geht um die Bedeutung selbstverwalteter Kulturräume, die Herausforderungen, passende Räume zu finden – und darum, welche politischen Entscheidungen nötig wären, um diese Orte langfristig zu sichern.
