Brian Lavelle has movedA couple of highlights of the first day of Tectonics 2023 in Glasgow today:
1. Carl Stone, with a blood-quickening and visceral set of his own unique sample-based music. Hard to believe he started doing this in the early 1970s at CalArts. What a journey.
2. Semay Wu, with a playful but also very intense improvised soundscape of many component parts that was just beautiful to watch. The great in the small.
