NorfolkGregMore important, #today, than the #compost cages was the progress made on clearing all the #grass, #reed and #sedge that had been strimmed last #Saturday.
The first image was taken at 09:47 and the filled compost bins at 11:01. I was pleased with what I had achieved.
Last Saturday was spent clearing the bank of the #lake behind our house. It took an hour to do the #strimming and the rest of the #daylight #hours to remove the the chopped reed from the lake and half of the #grass, #sedge and #reed from the bank. What we did manage to clear was piled in our #compost bins.
Nature with SteveStaying at Cors Goch, here are two #wetland plants from that #nature reserve. On the left, Common #Cottongrass—not a grass, but a #sedge, with distinctive 'cotton wool ball' seed heads. On the right, Marsh #Cinquefoil, a.k.a. Swamp Cinquefoil or Purple Marshlocks.

cohanI thought I was just photographing the flowers on this beautiful native #sedge that has self sown in the rock garden.. they have rather complicated flower structures, so I didn't realise there was something extra! I had to look at it for a bit on the computer screen to decide it is a #spider right?
