Just crossed 30k on the first draft manuscript for Shallow Trenches/Open Skies.
That puts me about 1/3 of the way through, and just a hair off pace to finish by the new year.
But I tend to write second halves faster, so...

In Gas Giant Gambit, only 1 character knows what's really going on, and they are not a POV character. It was easy not to reveal too much too soon.
In Shallow Trenches/Open Skies, 1 of the 2 POV characters knows WAY more than everyone else, and I'm struggling at times with when and what to reveal.

After learning about my new characters this week, I have come to the inescapable conclusion that I have to start my outline over. Trying to shove this new information into the existing stuff just ain't gonna cut it.
That's okay. Better now than with 50 pages written.
