My favorite #Seattle FLBS -- Free Range Cycles -- is doing a late-may event talking about biking “for any riders that have a vulva”

Shawna and that whole crew are awesome; if you're looking for riding tips, this is an event for you.

WA may be getting new highways — for bicyclists

While Washington State has been struggling to fund most of its major transportation projects, the chair of the state Senate Transportation Committee says financing a statewide bikeway system is cheap enough to pull off. The project would connect our existing major bike paths across the state—the Burke-Gilman, Palouse to Cascades, Eastrail, and Spokane’s Centennial—for less than $50 million over two years. It’s orders of magnitude cheaper than car infrastructure AND better for our environment.

Years ago, I read an article about surviving in the wilderness, and one tip really hit home: even if you’re fighting for your life, take a moment to look around and enjoy the view. This morning, I thought, 'since the current tech job market feels like being lost at sea, I should go for an early morning bike ride,' and this is what I saw.

One of my favorite local artists, KIRISKA has published a cute little zine about how to bike on Seattle evenings. Find it at bike shops or check her site: https://kiriska.com/sketch/see-be-seen-in-the-big-dark/

My city councilor has posted Yet Another Survey on the missing link on the #BurkeGilman trail. My response:

"It's offensive to me that we are engaging in YET ANOTHER STUDY about this; this missing link is a commuter route that puts bike commuters in danger from the structure of the road every day. This route has been planned for decades and we are, yet again, delaying it for "more feedback". No, don't do this again. Build the link.”

“Clarke said the changes to Shilshole will need to go beyond flatter pavement and better signage. For example? Well, she said, “there’s a really good design for a trail.””

Damn right there is. Build the #MissingLink already, #Seattle, and not this watered down “Leary Alternative" crap.

If you rode your bike in the vicinity of Fremont today and you've lost an Airpods Pro charging case, please DM me; I was following behind you and saw it fly out, but I couldn't catch you to give it back. #seattlebike
