Among my favorite murals and public art in Seattle is this elephant carrying an umbrella in the 1800 block of NW Dock Place in Ballard. (A real Seattle elephant, however, would simply wear a hooded rain coat and not carry an umbrella.)

Hattie's Hat in Ballard may trace its roots to the early 20th century, but is certainly no legacy laggard when it comes to 21st century cafe street design. "Ballard's Last Stand" is a trendsetter, along with the rest of Ballard Avenue. (Sidenote: Hattie's makes great Hollandaise for their benedicts.)

I'm not sure who may know the answer to this question, but is Jesse Avenue West the only "Avenue" in Seattle that is simply a pedestrian ramp right of way?
