This #searxng instance account is quite silent. Not because it is abandonned but because I only speak when it fails for me and I change things. I only received a couple of complains in the last two years. Luckily those could be addressed too.

As I only have overall technical stats on this instance, I can’t really tell how much it is used, or not :)

You are about 70 people following this account. And I expect you to be a user of the SearXNG instance. But I may be wrong and maybe you just tried it and forgot it because $REASONS.

So before I decide to turn it back to private mode because nobody uses it besides me (say hi to my imposter syndrome ;-), I’d like to know if you actually use it. And if not, I really would like to know why. Either because the software is not good or because the actual service sucks or any other reason. Honestly, do not fear telling me the truth, I can handle it, no offense. I really just want to know if it’s worth maintaining this instance.

I am self hosting and using SearXNG on all my devices for over a month and it’s such an amazing experience. My searches are finally accurate and private.

Es ist doch mal eine gute Nachricht, wenn #Google durch Übertreibung die #DiDay-Wechselrezepte fördert. Wobei ich persönlich die #SearXNG-basierten Suchmaschinen-Aufsätze wie z.B. https://gruble.de für noch besser als #DuckDuckGo halte.

Dags att sluta använda US-amerikanska sökmotorer. Det finns bra europeiska alternativ. Som exempelvis Qwant, Ecosia, Swisscows och Mojeek. De alternativ jag rekommenderar är Ecosia och Qwant. Själv använder jag Qwant.
